Jim is an Executive Vice President and the Chief Investment Officer of The Whittier Trust Companies of California and of Nevada. He is responsible for clients' investments in all asset classes. He has an extensive background in research and in managing investment portfolios for institutional and high net worth clients. Before joining The Whittier Trust Companies in 1994, Jim created the private capital management division for high net worth clients at Trust Services of America (TSA) and served as Chief Investment Officer and President of TSA Capital Management, TSA's institutional investment management subsidiary. After Northern Trust purchased TSA, Jim was retained as Chief Investment Officer for Northern Trust of California. Prior to that, he held management and securities portfolio analysis positions at Rockwell International and at Trust Company of the West.

 

Jim also has in-depth experience in the areas of oil and gas, and he is actively involved in overseeing these assets on a global basis for our clients.

 

Jim is a native of Los Angeles. He received both his Bachelors degree and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
