Kimberly Shepherd serves on Whittier Trust’s Board of Directors, bringing deep experience in
governance, fundraising, and family stewardship.
Kimberly comes from a distinguished Los Angeles family of entrepreneurs and philanthropists.
Her grandfather, H. Leslie Hoffman, founded Hoffman Electronics, and her grandmother, Elaine
Stevely Hoffman, established the Hoffman Foundation. Kimberly continues that legacy as a
Director of the Foundation, focusing on governance, family engagement, and multigenerational
stewardship.
Kimberly’s connection to USC spans three generations. Building on her mother, Jane Popovich,
and her grandfather’s service on USC’s Board of Trustees, she now serves on the USC
President’s Leadership Council, the Keck of USC Board of Councilors, and the USC Capital
Campaign Committee. Kimberly also founded the Marshall Torch Society at the USC Marshall
School of Business.
Kimberly is a Trustee of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation and Children’s Hospital Los
Angeles, and has supported organizations including Polytechnic School, Kidspace Children’s
Museum, Pasadena Children’s Guild, and Young Presidents’ Organization. She has earned a
reputation for strengthening board operations and financial sustainability, and for helping
organizations align leadership and long-term strategy.
A Los Angeles native, Kimberly earned her degree from USC and completed the Women on
Corporate Boards program at Harvard Business School.
