Matt manages Whittier Trust’s West Los Angeles office and provides client advisory and administration services to affluent individuals and families. Matt’s focus and expertise includes strategic estate and tax planning, charitable giving, investment management, valuation analysis, and real estate.

Matt employs over 25 years of experience in financial planning, private business valuation, public security analysis, and portfolio management to help solve complex financial and taxation issues for clients. Prior to joining the Whittier Trust Company, Matt was an Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Stonebridge Capital Management, Inc. for over 19 years. Matt’s experience prior to joining Stonebridge was as a VP and Shareholder at Van Deventer & Hoch Investment Counsel and as a Research Associate at Economic Analysis Corporation.

Matt has a B.A. in Mathematical Economics from Pomona College, where he was a Pomona Scholar and the recipient of the Lorne D. Cook award in Economics. Matt is a CFA charterholder, a member of the CFA Institute and the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts, as well as a member of the Jonathan Club. Matt enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and spending time with his family and their dogs.
