Phil is a Vice President, Client Advisor in Whittier Trust’s Seattle office, where he focuses on the needs of ultra-high-net-worth families. With experience in trust administration, tax, estate planning, and family governance consulting, Phil brings a conscientious approach to our team, considering short-term and long-term implications and helping families define and achieve their goals.
Phil brings a unique background with more than 12 years in public accounting in both California and Washington State, spending time with Deloitte and Andersen Tax. As a CPA, his work centered around the most complex issues of high-net-worth families, including, but not limited to, individual income tax, pass-through entities, and trust and estate planning. Subsequently, Phil spent six years as the Senior Director of Pacific Trust Company, a firm focused on trust administration and estate planning for ultra-high net worth families, where Phil headed their consulting practice.
Originally from Southern California, Phil has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master of Accountancy from California State University, Fullerton. He relocated to Seattle in 2014, where he currently resides, but still spends significant time in Southern California working with clients and visiting family.
